Amazon Alexa Tablet Launch

Amazon Alexa Tablet Launch Brings AI Features and Leadership Changes:

Amazon has introduced three new Android tablets with built-in Alexa+ AI, while also announcing leadership changes in its Alexa division. The moves come as the company looks to improve its AI assistant and compete in the premium tablet market.

The Amazon Alexa Tablet Launch marks a shift from Amazon’s affordable Fire tablets to devices with upgraded hardware, better displays, and access to the Google Play Store.

Amazon Announces Three New Tablets

The lineup includes the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, Tablet 11, and Tablet 8. All three feature aluminum bodies, Android, and access to apps such as YouTube, Netflix, Gmail, and Google Docs.

The flagship Tablet 12 Pro features a 12-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 4nm octa-core processor, and up to 16GB of RAM. It also offers Dolby Atmos speakers, Wi-Fi 6E, and up to 16 hours of video playback. An optional Nanomatte display reduces glare, while a separate keyboard and Pro Pen support productivity.

The Tablet 11 has an 11-inch 2.5K display with a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 15 hours of video playback. The compact Tablet 8 features an 8.7-inch screen, weighs 329 grams, and offers up to 14 hours of video playback.

Alexa+ Adds AI-Powered Features

Alexa+ is built into all three tablets, allowing users to ask questions, control smart-home devices and receive personalised recommendations. Its optional On-Screen Intelligence can analyse displayed content and provide contextual help.

The Kindle reading experience also silences notifications, reduces blue light and supports up to 20 hours of reading.

Prices start at $229.99 for the Tablet 8, $329.99 for the Tablet 11, and $499.99 for the Tablet 12 Pro. The Nanomatte Pro model starts at $549.99. Shipping begins October 14 in the US, Canada, and Mexico, followed by selected European countries on October 19.

Amazon Changes Alexa Leadership

According to Reuters, Daniel Rausch will leave his Alexa and Echo leadership role in November and is expected to return to another Devices and Services position in 2027. Aidan Marcuss will take over his responsibilities, while Kevin Keith temporarily assumes Marcuss’ existing duties.

The Amazon Alexa Tablet Launch and leadership reshuffle highlight the company’s growing focus on AI-powered devices. Its challenge now is turning Alexa+ into a useful, sustainable business.
